RESEARCH TOPICS |
1 |
The evaluation of low-dose occupational exposure
to a number of xenobiotics that range from metals, mycotoxins and
solvents to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons |
2 |
Methods to determine the dose and effect indicators
in the biological matrices of occupationally exposed workers |
3 |
The study of exposure to precious metal aerosols
in workers exposed to exhaust fumes from catalytic converters |
4 |
The activity in the Industrial Toxicology field
includes in vitro and in vivo studies. The in vitro studies are
concerned with the evaluation of effects on the cell cycle of apoptosis,
genotoxicity, and oxidative damage caused by substances used in
industry, while in vivo studies focus on the evaluation of xenobiotic-related
effects on the haemopoietic, immune, endocrine and reproductive
systems of different laboratory animal species |
|
|
ASSISTANCE ACITIVITY |
1 |
Determination of chemicals in biological materials
of occupational exposed subjects. |
|
|
SERVICES |
1 |
Consulting activity in sectors related to engineering,
textiles, basic chemicals, building materials, air transport, fertilizers,
alternative energy, pharmaceuticals, detergents, the production
of laboratory instruments, petrochemicals, natural gas mining, petrol
refining, printing, rubber, services and the removal of asbestos
insulation from buildings. |
